Flavia Naves is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Circle, a global financial technology firm that enables businesses of all sizes to harness the power of stablecoins and public blockchains for payments, commerce and financial applications.

Flavia has decades of experience with legal and regulatory-facing roles at WorldPay, one of the largest payments processors in the world, Intuit, working on global SMB payment solutions, and most recently, Qwil, an innovative SMB-focused instant lending and liquidity start-up.

Flavia is also an expert in regulatory matters in the US payments industry. She has served on the advisory board for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors and has contributed to the Federal Reserve’s Faster Payments Task Force.

Born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Flavia is active in the local Brazilian community and provides mentoring to young attorneys. She is also a long-term Board member at Instituto Familiar de la Raza.

Flavia obtained her legal degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais and a certificate of US legal studies from Widener University Commonwealth Law School. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and daughters, where they enjoy the beach, hiking, and the Tahoe mountains during the winter.
